"Share With Us" Program

Last saturday, May 15th was another historic moment for Rotary Club of Melawati.  It held its inaugural 'Share With Us" program at its Resource Centre.  The session was moderated by a well known Clinical Pyschologist, Paul Jambunathan.

The "Share With Us" program is a program where the parents/caregivers of children with special needs share and acquire knowledge on the management of children with special needs. 

To gain full benefit from the program the participants were restricted to 10.  It's a 2 hour session where participants open up and share their experiences.  For those who were present had an emotional experience. At the end of the session each participants were given a 'certificate of participation'.

Tun Dr Mahathir to launch RYLA 2008

Great News!!!

Tun Dr Mahathir will officially launch the RYLA 2008. We are greatly honored to have a great leader to do the opening. Tun will also be giving a keynote address titled "Importance of Vision", which we belief will be inspirational to the tomorrow's leaders.

This is something that has never happened in the RYLA history, where famous dignitary declares open the RYLA program. Well done!!! Rotary Club of Melawati.

Angkasawan to close the RYLA 2008

The first Malaysian Astronaut, Dr Sheikh Muszaphar will do the closing of the RYLA 2008. We are really honored to have him do the closing. While Tun had a vision of sending a Malaysian to space, Dr Sheikh Muszaphar fulfilled it.

What is RYLA?
The Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) is a recognition programme where local Rotary Clubs select young people who currently hold leadership positions in community groups, or have shown potential to lead these groups. The major part of this award is an opportunity to participate in a challenging 4-day activites.

What are the benefits?
The RYLA conference provides an opportunity to extend leadership skills and rapidly assists with personal growth; it provides a rare opportunity to focus on leadership talents and on your personal direction in life and RYLA nominees have the opportunity to mix with other leaders their own age from a wide range of backgrounds, who like themselves, are enthusiastic about their leadership responsibilities and self development.
